Gertrude E. ‘Gert’ Rosa Abbadini
Gertrude E. ‘Gert’ Abbadini age 85, of Hiller, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at her home.
She w a s b o r n o n Saturday, April 10, 1926 i n Detroit, Michigan the Daughter of James B. Rosa and Louise (F a n t i n i) Rosa formerly of LaBelle, Pennsylvania.
She was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pennsylvania and the Catholic Daughters of America Brownsville Court 1141 ‘Birthday Girls’.
‘Gert’ and her Husband, Jerry, owned and operated Abbadini’s Bar and Restaurant in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania from 1952 until 1979 when they moved to Hiller.
‘Gert’ was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She will be remembered for her ‘Big Heart’ and loving and caring nature. Her door of her home was always open to family and friends!
She was preceded in death by her Parents; her Husband, Jerry A. Abbadini; and a Sister-in-Law, Ann Abbadini.
Left to cherish her memory are: her Sister, Lillian Baroni and husband Frank, Naperville Illinois; two Brothers-in-Law: O r l a n d o A b b a d i n i of Richeyville, Pennsylvania and Robert Abbadini and his wife Gladys of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania; Cousin and caregiver Helene Dellarose and husband Ronald, Labelle, Pennsylvania; and many beloved Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and Friends.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL H O M E, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania today from 2 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, with Rev. Father Micah Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will in Redstone Cemetery.
Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 3.
The Catholic Daughters of America Brownsville Court 1141 will recite the Rosary in Funeral Home today at 3:30.
