(Scopel) Barone
Kathryn R. (Scopel) Barone, age 87, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at home.
She was born on June 7, 1924 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late John Scopel and Santa (Smaniotto) Scopel.
The last member of her immediate family, Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and in addition to her parents, her husband Nick Barone, Jr., 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Kathryn was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Fairchance – Georges High School and worked at the Houz Glass Factory in Point. Marion in the 1950’s. She loved to cook and bake for her family, especially her unforgettable pies.
Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. Barone and Kathy L. (Prete) Barone ; and beloved granddaughters, Paige A. Barone and Tara N. Barone, all of Bridgeville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Extention, Uniontown, PA, on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak officiating.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
