Two area Chevrolet dealers are supporting local soccer teams through the Chevrolet Youth Soccer program.

Participating dealers are Fike Chevrolet Co. of Masontown, which is sponsoring Brownsville Youth Soccer Association and Day-Centennial-Chevrolet of Uniontown, which is sponsoring the Fayette County Youth Soccer Club.

These sponsorships will include monetary and equipment donations during this fall’s youth soccer season.

Chevrolet Youth Soccer is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve.

Over the course of the season, Fike Chevrolet Co. and Day-Centennial-Chevrolet will donate equipment to the organizations, including soccer balls, ball bags, ball pumps, field cones, coach’s kits, corner flags, scrimmage vests and first aid kits.

In addition, each sponsored organization will take part in the “Chevrolet Youth Soccer Breakaway Giveaway,” which is a fundraiser that can earn each organization up to $10,000.

The “Chevrolet Youth Soccer Breakaway Giveaway” features a grand prize of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco, along with other prizes, such as HD Televisions, courtesy of the local Chevrolet dealership.

Also, youth soccer participants will have a chance to attend a youth clinic with local professional soccer coaches.

“We are looking forward to a great season with the Brownsville Youth Soccer Association that will be filled with exciting games and an enhanced experience for the teams through the equipment and cash donation,” Dale Plaski, of Fike Chevrolet Co., said.

The 2011 program will provide assistance to 290 organizations in the Northeastern region and Chevrolet dealers will contribute over $450,000 in monetary and equipment donations.
