By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Fayette County Coroner Dr. Phillip E. Reilly has ruled the shooting death of a Masontown man a homicide.

Masontown police Chief Joseph C. Ryan said Leon Mickens, who turned 35 years just minutes before his death, was shot in the face and in the upper back and shoulder shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.

While the details of an autopsy conducted Tuesday have not been released in detail, officials from the coroner’s office said this afternoon that the examination confirmed that Mickens died as a result of a lethal gunshot wound and that the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
