Correction 8-17-11

1 min read

The most serious charges filed against a Dunbar woman accused of assaulting a state police trooper at a district judge’s office in Dunbar Township in May were withdrawn Friday. State police Trooper Alec Hamilton said Rosemary C. Thorpe, 49, of 417 First St. was charged before Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Prosecutors withdrew the aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges against Thorpe who then waived the lesser charges against her to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer Friday. An article in Sunday’s newspaper did not include information regarding the withdrawal of charges against Thorpe. HeraldStandard.com apologizes for the error.
