Charles Leroy Young of Masontown, PA, formerly of Marianna, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011.

He was born February 22, 1929 in Marianna, PA, son of the late Forest S. Young and Charlotte L. Young.

Upon graduation from high school, he entered the army, serving in the Korean conflict, where he was wounded and decorated. After discharge, Leroy was employed at the Bethlehem Mines until his retirement in 1983.

Husband of the late Mildred Jackson Young, father of Tommy Thompson and the late Dewayne Thompson; brother of Betty Seneca (deceased), Forrest Young (deceased), Frederick Young, Verdell Young, Wanda Scott and Joseph Young. Also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received at the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and 7 River Ave., Masontown, PA 15461 (724-583-8811) today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Funeral Service begins 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Maykuth Funeral Home with Rev. Dewvaul Tracy officiating.

Internment immediately following at Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, PA.

Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Post 4584 and American Legion Post 423.
