Ida Pacione Wells
Ida Pacione Wells, 91, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1920 in Chestnut Ridge, Pa., the daughter of Maria (D’Oinisio) and Carlo Vincent Pacione.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Richard Wells, two brothers Arcola and Raymond Pacione and four sisters: Louise Ginestre, Ora Marinacci, Nicholetta Mai-mone and Lena Pallastrone.
Ida was a member of the Rosa Garbaldi Lodge 1818, Christian Mothers and at one time, the North Side Ladies Auxiliary. She also cooked at the Brownsville Catholic School and until recently at the Brownsville Sons of Italy.
During WWII, Ida lived in North Tonawanda, N.Y. as well as in Buffalo, N.Y., where she worked at Buffalo Bolts and then in Niagara Falls at the Nabisco Company.
She will be sadly missed by her three children: Carolyn Wells Henshaw, Brownsville, Pa., Jean Wells Arnold and husband Tom, Setauket, N.Y. and Bruce Nicholas Wells, Brownsville, Pa.; three grandchildren: Marc Nicholas Henshaw, Joyce Bailey Arnold and Jesse Nicholas Arnold; her sister Evelyn Constantine, Smock, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 9 – 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, Pa. with the Rev. Father Micah Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Grindstone, Pa.
The Rosa Garibaldi Lodge No. 1818 will hold their ritual in the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 3 p.m.
