Officials identify body found in vehicle in Bullskin Township

By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Officials from the Fayette County Coroner’s office have identified a body found inside a van at Greenlick Park in Bullskin Township on Tuesday evening.

Deputy Coroner Jessie Camilli said she pronounced Walter Bennett, 48, dead at the scene at 8:47 p.m.

He is believed to be from the Scottdale area.

Officials said that the Bennett’s body was discovered by a family that was taking photographs in the park.

Officials said while it appears that Bennett died from an overdose of drugs, the death remains under investigation pending the results of an autopsy conducted Wednesday, as well as toxicological tests.

The Graft-Jacquillard Funeral Home in Scottdale is handling funeral arrangements for Bennett, Camilli said.

State police are continuing to investigate.
