Runners from six countries stop in Uniontown on way across the United States

1 min read

A group of more than a dozen runners and their supporters from six countries traveled through Uniontown Thursday in one leg of a 3,200-mile journey across the United States.

The runners, which arrived throughout the day, are participating in a race that began in Los Angeles on June 19 and will end in New York City on Aug. 27.

The race is sponsored by the UltraRunning Association (URA), a French non-profit organization.

In advance of the runners arriving, a group of organizers set up at the Step Into Style Hair Salon in Uniontown.

The stop-off point at the intersection of Evergreen Terrace and McClellandtown Road is where the runners will depart at 5:30 a.m. Friday morning on their way to Frostburg, Md.
