Fayette County cancer victim has wish come true

John Bassin, 57, had is wish fulfilled by Unity, A Journey of Hope, which is run by John and Bobbi Robinson of Vanderbilt.

The Robinson’s took Bassin to the Hall in Canton, Ohio, on Thursday and gave him tickets to a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Attending a Pirates game and meeting some players was the second half of his wish.

Pictures and videos of Bassin, who was diagnosed in March, at the Hall are meant to be given to his future grandchildren so they can know the grandfather they may never have the chance to meet.

Unity, A Journey of Hope is a non-profit charity that grants wishes to adults with life-limiting illnesses. Unity’s website is www.unityajourneyofhope.org.
