Masontown Bridge bids to be opened next month

Bids for construction of a new, $60 million Masontown Bridge over the Monongahela River that links Fayette and Greene counties will be opened next month.

According to the state Department of Transportation, bids for the bridge project and the bridge road project will be opened on Sept. 29.

Construction of the new bridge, which should begin before the end of the year, is anticipated to take three years.
