1 min read

CARMICHAELS — The Friends of Flenniken Library used book sale began on Saturday, and will run through Sept. 3 during regular library hours in the library’s Blue Room.

The selection includes novels, nonfiction, books for children and young adults, DVD and VHS movies, and recorded music on compact disc and cassettes. There are also children’s picture books and novels.

Sale items will not be priced. Instead, monetary donations will be accepted in any amount. Proceeds from the sale will be used to support library programming.

The Teen Summer Reading Program’s annual Golden Flamingo Award Film Festival will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the library. The young people wrote, directed, starred in and edited their own movies during the six-week program. They invite their friends and family to come and see the movie premieres.

The library will be closed on Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day.

Library hours are: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
