Judge to rule on school administration consolidation question

1 min read

Fayette County Judge Ralph C. Warman will decide whether or not a referendum question for the November election regarding the consolidation of administrations and school boards of the six Fayette County school districts will be included on the ballot.

Warman held a lengthy hearing on the issue Monday afternoon on an objection filed by Delinda Young of North Union Township and Rob Frasconi of Uniontown to a petition filed by state Rep. Timothy Mahoney, D-South Union, seeking to have a question on the Nov. 8 ballot.

Throughout the hearing, the issue whether or not the referendum question is binding was raised, with Mahoney’s attorney arguing that it is and the objectors claiming it was not. Young and Frasconi were not represented by an attorney and Young presented the case.
