Jane Smiley Endsley, age 86, of Uniontown, PA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at home with her loving family at her side.

She was born November 27, 1924 in Uniontown, PA, the daughter of Darrell William Smiley and Emma Dunn Hepplewhite Smiley.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Endsley and sister, Betty Smiley Mattingly.

Jane graduated from Uniontown High School and Westminster College. She previously worked at Bell Telephone and she and Eugene owned and operated Glass Gems Studios. She and Eugene were co-owners of Brown Smiley Insurance Agency, Inc. Jane was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Sunday Nighters, Birthday Club, Bridge Club, Coffee Club, Uniontown Service League, Uniontown Green Gardners Club, Uniontown Art Club, Uniontown Country Club, Ladies of the Supreme Council and Touchstone Center for Crafts.

Jane is survived by her son, Darrell William Endsley of Newark DE; daughter, Eugenia Gay Thompson of Bear Rocks, PA and nieces, Miranda Dejaimatt and Faye Mattingly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 2 until 4 PM and 7 until 9 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday August 26, 2011 in Asbury United Methodist Church from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, followed by a service celebrating Jane’s life with Pastor Don Kephart officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
