Searchers continued to scour a wooded area in Stewart Township on Wednesday for a missing Morgantown, W.Va., hiker.

State police said the search began Tuesday after officials learned that Deborah Meyers, 47, had been reported missing.

Police said Meyers was last heard from around 11 a.m. Monday and that she is believed to have gone hiking at the Bear Run Nature Reserve on Route 381 near Fallingwater.

Cpl. Charles Frey confirmed Wednesday that crews were continuing to scour the woods in and around the nature reserve.

In addition to state police, volunteer firefighters from Ohiopyle-Stewart Township, members of the Fayette County Sheriff Department’s Search and Rescue Team, officials from the state Department of Natural Resources, Bear Run security personnel and numerous volunteers are searching for Meyers.

Meyers is described as 5 feet tall and weighing about 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and reddish brown hair. Police said no description of her clothing is available.

Anyone with information regarding Meyers’ whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-439-7111.
