Uniontown teens charged following theft

By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Two Uniontown teenagers are facing multiple charges after police allege they stole copper and aluminum items from a home in Uniontown on Thursday afternoon.

City police Officer Frederick Kampert said the teens, who are brothers, were each charged in Fayette County Juvenile Court with theft, criminal conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

According to Kampert, the charges were filed after police were summoned to a residence at 8 Byrer Ave. for a report of teenagers stealing aluminum gutters and siding.

Kampert said police were given descriptions of the teens and were able to find them at a residence in the city a few minutes later.

Kampert said the teens met police outside the home and then allowed them to enter the residence to speak with their mother.

He said when police entered the residence, they found two garbage cans filled with scrap aluminum and copper the teens admitted to stealing from the house.
