Uniontown police probe attempted robbery

By Josh Krysakheraldstandard.Com 2 min read

Uniontown police said they are investigating an attempted robbery of a woman outside a gas station Thursday morning.

Officer Frederick Kampert said Danielle Hanan of Uniontown told police that she was pumping gasoline at the Sunoco service station on Connellsville Street at 8:43 a.m. when a man approached her from behind and pushed an object against her lower back.

Kampert said Hanan told investigators that the suspect told her, “Give me all your bank.”

Hanan said she was able to look over her shoulder and released that the suspect did not have a gun pushed against her.

The man then told Hanan that she better get some money for him or he would kill her, Kampert said.

Hanan told police she then turned around and faced the man and told him to get away from her before getting into her car, locking the doors and calling police.

Kampert said the suspect was described as a black man with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with designs on it. He fled the scene in a silver Ford Crown Victoria toward East Main Street.

Police canvased the area looking for the suspect but were unable to locate him, Kampert said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
