1 min read

State police said a 23-year-old Dawson man was accidentally shot in the hip Sunday evening when his friend dropped a rifle.

Joshua Peck was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a single round hit him, Trooper Tim Maloney said.

Police said that Peck’s friend, Jacob Walker, was carrying a .22-caliber rifle down the stairs at a Lower Tyrone Township home around 8 p.m., and when he dropped the gun, it discharged and Peck was hit by the shot.
