Ethel Marie Tarpley, formerly of Fairchance, Pa., age 92, “Mother” of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Fairchance, Pa. was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011.

Ethel Tarpley was born on September 14, 1919 unto Major and Gertrude Turpin. She was a Deaconess and member of the Senior Choir. On several occasions Mrs. Tarpley has served as a delegate at the YWBA to represent the missionaries of Mt. Calvary.

Ethel was a loving wife, daughter, mother, aunt and friend.

Ethel was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernest Tarpley and her siblings Lettie Mannaway, Margaret Coving-ton, Stella Winston and Donald Turpin and her Son-in-Love, Maurice Jackson.

Ethel is survived by her children: Ernestine “Peggy” Jackson and Carol Mickens (Joseph, only living Son-In-Love); brothers: Lincoln “Buddy” (N.Y.) and Harold (Grace) (Ga.) Turpin; sister, Bernice Edmonson (N.Y.); 5 grand-children, 9 great-grand-children and 1 great-great-grandchild. Ethel has several devoted nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received at the SHILOH CHURCH OF GOD AND CHRIST, Friday, December 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at MT. CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH in Fairchance, Pa. with funeral services starting at noon with the Reverend Terry Sanders officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME 297 E. Main St. Uniontown, PA
