Uniontown police probe daylight home invasion
Uniontown police are investigating after three men broke into a residence, held a woman at gunpoint and ransacked the home for cash.
Officer Jennifer Field said the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Thursday as Angela Pitts Seehoffer, 28, of Uniontown was sitting at the kitchen table with her 8-year-old daughter inside her residence on Kerr Street.
Seehoffer told police someone knocked on the front door but she ignored it. About five minutes later, Seehoffer said someone knocked on the back door, Field said. When Seehoffer asked who it was, she said that she heard a man’s voice say it was “Jason.” She told police that she has a friend named Jason, so she got up and opened the door for him, Field said.
Seehoffer told police that when she opened the door, three masked men — two brandishing handguns — entered her home and began to ransack the residence.
She said one of the men struck her in the back of the head with a gun and demanded to know where she “stashed” her money, Field said.
During the robbery, Field said that the men forced her into a corner of the living room while they continued to search, but did allow her to gather her children, including 2-year-old and 1-year-old boys, while the men continued searching the residence.
When Seehoffer attempted to summon her daughter to her from the kitchen, she and the men realized that the girl had fled the residence, Field said. The suspects immediately fled the home, Field said.
Field said that the men stole two laptop computers, two video game systems and her cellphone.
