Give-A-Christmas total over $9,000
The Give-A-Christmas total is now $9,205 after HeraldStandard.com readers sent in another $500 to the campaign that benefits the Salvation Army.
Donations came from individiuals throughout the county and from the United Methodist Women at Christ United Methodist Church in Uniontown.
“Thank you so much for donating,” said Sparkle, the Christmas star, who is mascot for the campaign. “It’s a busy time of year and we’re so grateful to people who take the time to participate. Remember that all the money goes to the local branch of the Salvation Army that serves the donor’s community so when you contribute to Give-A-Christmas, you are helping your neighbors.”
One donation came from a family living in Ohio.
“Dear Sparkle, Even though we no longer live in the Uniontown area, we feel it is important to continue to support such a worthy cause. We hope you exceed your goal. May God bless and may you have a Merry Christmas,” wrote Lois and Frank Smoley of Willoughby, Ohio.
“How wonderful that people remember the campaign and want to help the community even when they move away,” said Sparkle.
