Santa takes part in Uniontown holiday celebration

The weather outside might have been

somewhat frightful on Thursday, but it did not deter hundreds of

youngsters, adults or Santa from taking part in the “Home for the

Holidays” celebration in downtown Uniontown.

The Uniontown Downtown Business

District Authority (UDBDA) in partnership with the Fayette Chamber

of Commerce, National Road Heritage Corridor and United Way

co-hosted the event that included a parade, musical concerts,

cookie decorating and other activities.

Mrs. Claus mingled with the crowd as

onlookers waited for Santa’s arrival.

”We’re very busy now at the North

Pole,” she said. “We have just a few more days to get ready.”

Cousins Morgan Steiner, 4, and

Bailey Cooley, 5, both of Lemont Furnace, sat along the Main Street

parade route anxious to see Santa.
