Santa takes part in Uniontown holiday celebration
The weather outside might have been
somewhat frightful on Thursday, but it did not deter hundreds of
youngsters, adults or Santa from taking part in the “Home for the
Holidays” celebration in downtown Uniontown.
The Uniontown Downtown Business
District Authority (UDBDA) in partnership with the Fayette Chamber
of Commerce, National Road Heritage Corridor and United Way
co-hosted the event that included a parade, musical concerts,
cookie decorating and other activities.
Mrs. Claus mingled with the crowd as
onlookers waited for Santa’s arrival.
”We’re very busy now at the North
Pole,” she said. “We have just a few more days to get ready.”
Cousins Morgan Steiner, 4, and
Bailey Cooley, 5, both of Lemont Furnace, sat along the Main Street
parade route anxious to see Santa.
