Helen Kasik Gondek
Helen M. Kasik Gondek, age 90, of Allison One, Pa., passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1921 in Calumet, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph Kasik and Anna Bosco Kasik.
Helen was a lifelong member of the Church of the Madonna, Cardale, Pa.
She was a homemaker who was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills. She especially enjoyed preparing holiday meals for her family.
Helen also loved growing flowers, doing needlework, crocheting, and listening to polkas.
Helen’s nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Each one was her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Gondek in 1996, a daughter, Tina Marie Gondek, her son in law, George Kanyok, two brothers, and three sisters.
Surviving are her children, Beverly Kanyok, of Brownsville, Pa., Arlene Lemansky and husband, Francis, of Hopwood, Pa., Antionette Letavec and husband, Joseph, of Dayton, Ohio, Joseph Gondek and wife Beatrice, Harrisburg Pa., and Helene Kifus and husband, Rudy, of Monongahela, Pa., grandchildren, M a r k Kanyok, David Kanyok, and wife Carlynn, Joseph Kanyok, Barton Lemansky and wife, Holly, Craig Letavec and wife, Jenny, Joseph Gondek and Cassi Dunmire,Renee Gondek, Mary Beth McLean, and husband, Lee, and Amy Kifus, great grandchildren, Brett and Bailey Lemansky, C l a i r e Letavec, Amelia Jane Gondek.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, 19 Legion St., Republic, Pa., today (Sunday) from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Madonna, with Rev. Fr. James Clark, as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Cardale, Pa.
