John R. “Jack” Henson, 93 of Collier, Pa. passed away December 11, 2011 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on January 17, 1918 in Fair-chance, Pa., the son of Clarence Henson and Bertha (Myers) Henson.

John is predeceased by his parents, sons, John Henson at birth and Tom Henson, grandson, Thomas Christopher Henson, brother, Ed Henson, sister, Mary Arison and daughter in law, Lana J. (Rodeheaver) Henson.

He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a Master Sergeant. He worked at Fruehauf Manufacturing in Ohio and the Armor Company in Uniontown, Pa. for many years.

John was a member and Sunday School teacher for thirty-six years at the Little White Rock Church.

Surviving are his wife of seventy years, Thelma C. Thomas Henson; son, Barry Henson, Fairchance, Pa.; grand-children: Heidi J. Henson- DeWitt and husband Jeremiah, Fairchance, Pa., Jennifer L. Henson, Hopwood, Pa., Thomas R. Henson, Uniontown, Pa. and Sean M. Henson, Collier, Pa.; great grand-daughters: Alivia L. DeWitt and Lauryn N. DeWitt; sister Anna Mack, Fairchance, Pa.; several nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law, Lana J. Rodeheaver Henson.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 15, 2011 until 11:00 a.m. the Hour of Service with Rev. Dave White officiating.

Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa. with Military Rites being accorded by Amvets Post 103.
