2 min read

God’s angels came and carried the precious soul of Verna J. Plume Williams to her eternal home on Saturday, December 10, 2011.

Verna was the first of eight children born to Robert ‘Bill’ and Cecelia (Burnworth) Plume on October 5, 1929.

In addition to her parents, Verna was predeceased by her husband Clyde, son Clydie and daughter Sandi and a sister Bessie Plume Morrison.

Verna lived her life as a compassionate caring woman to anyone who needed her. She was known as a true friend to anyone who ever met her. She was a hard worker with many talents. Her homemade Peanut Butter Fudge was requested by anyone who ever tasted it. She often made a batch or two to donate to area fundraisers. Family and friends always looked forward to that SPECIAL gift at Christmas.

Verna’s physical body had been getting weaker due to various health issues, but she never complained. Her hard work ethic of always going and doing as much as possible kept her going.

Fond and loving memories will fill the hearts of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would say with pride, ‘I have 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and more on the way’.

Verna’s brothers and sisters will have many precious memories of family get togethers.

Surviving her are: Son-in-law Rich Wist and sons; Son Jim and Margie, Son Rick and Darlene, Son Jeff and Kim; Sister Delores and Bill Fieldson, Sister Ruth and Dick Appleby; Brother Sonny and Joan Plume, Brother Danny and Nancy Plume; Sister Connie and Smitty Smithburger; Brother Billy Plume and all of their children and families.

Verna was loved and appreciated by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her thoughtfulness and always being ready and willing to lend a helping hand or a compassionate ear to listen to others or offering a shoulder to cry or lean on will be a treasured memory by all who loved her!

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m., the Hour of the Service with Rev. Thomas Bonomo officiating. Interment will follow in Sands Cemetery, Maple Summit, Pa.
