Judge refuses further appeals in murder
A Hopwood will not be able ask for further review of his upheld third-degree murder conviction in the 1998 beating death of a 2-year-old boy.
After a federal court judge in Pittsburgh denied Franklin Weimer’s appeal in the Jan. 24 death of Zachary Johnson, he asked the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals to allow him to appeal the matter for further review.
