Dave Lohr concedes commissioner race
Republican Fayette County commissioner candidate Dave Lohr said Tuesday that he has no plans to seek additional recounts, saying any more challenges would look like “spoiled grapes.”
Lohr, who lost out on the third seat on the board of commissioners by 18 votes to incumbent Republican Angela M. Zimmerlink, said he congratulated all three winners, and he hopes they do good things for the county.
“I want people to realize that what it comes down to is that if it were flipped the other way, I would have expected the other candidate to do the same thing,” Lohr said.
Late Monday afternoon the vote totals were certified when the three members of the election board signed off on them. With the certification, the three-member board of commissioners for the next four years will include Democrat Al Ambrosini, who was the top vote-getter with 12,092 votes, Democratic incumbent Vincent Zapotosky with 10,180 votes and and Zimmerlink, who received 8,864 votes.
Lohr finished fourth with 8,846 votes.
