Give-A-Christmas total now $23,867
With just days to go before deadline, the Give-A-Christmas fund is $23,867 as HeraldStandard.com readers sent in $3,017 in the latest contributions.
Several individuals and groups sent in significant donations to the campaign that hopes to raise $40,000 to benefit the Salvation Army.
“We’re doing great,” said Sparkle, campaign mascot. “But remember that our deadline is noon on Friday. We don’t have much time left to reach our goal.”
The Christmas star received some nice notes, including:
“I keep watching the total in the newspaper and wondering why the campaign is not reaching its goal. Then it dawned on me that I had not mailed in my donation. Hope the goal is met because the need is great in this area,” wrote Carlo, Rita and Dominique Ballone of Republic.
