North Union Township man charged with sex assault
A North Union Township man is facing charges he sexually assaulted a woman at his residence in September, state police allege.
Trooper James L. Garlick said Michael Scott Soroka, 43, of 41 Cycle St. was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with sexual assault, aggravated assault and simple assault.
According to Garlick, the charges were filed after Soroka sexually assaulted a North Union Township woman at his residence Sept. 23.
Garlick said the incident began as a consensual sexual encounter but added that Soroka violently assaulted the woman during the incident requiring her to seek medical treatment at Uniontown Hospital.

A preliminary hearing for Soroka will be held at a later date before Dennis.
