Man charged for alleged kidnapping
A South Park man is behind bars after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a Pittsburgh woman in California early Saturday. California police Officer John Hackinson said Eric William Lennon, 21, was charged with kidnapping, simple assault, unlawful restraint, possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, criminal mischief and a traffic-related charge.
Hackinson said the incident occurred around 5 a.m. when Lennon encountered a 19-year-old woman and kidnapped her.
Hackinson said Lennon assaulted the woman and also damaged her car. He noted that the incident occurred at an undisclosed location in the borough. Police offered no further details.
Police have not released the woman’s identity or information regarding the extent of her injuries.
Lennon was placed in the Washington County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment Saturday.
