Jessie Mae McKnight Schmid
Jessie Mae McKnight Schmid, 93, a resident of the Marquis House, Uniontown, Pa. passed away at her residence on February 2, 2011.
She was born September 23, 1917 in West Leisenring, Pa., daughter of William H. McKnight and Mary Elizabeth Cowie McKnight.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Schmid; brothers, John William McKnight and James McKnight and sisters, Garnet Gies, Emma Jean Reed and Dona Sands.
Jessie was employed for many years with the federal government in Washington, D.C. until her retirement.
She was a member of the Uniontown Chapter No. 263 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her brother, Richard “Dick” McKnight and wife Ruby of Smithfield, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today (Friday) from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service begins at 8 p.m. with Pastor Lillian Sparks officiating.
Order of the Eastern Star will hold services tonight at 7 p.m.
Interment will be on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 with her husband in the Mansion Memorial Cemetery, Ellenton, Florida.
