Sally Ann (Monteith) Dawson
Sally Ann (Monteith) Dawson, age 72, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010.
She was born July 29, 1938 in Smithfield, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas Monteith and Agnes (Lisauckis) Monteith.
She is survived by her husand of 49 years-September 9, 1961-and daughter Shannon
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Monteith, brother-in-law John Greathouse, and sister-in-law Sandy Monteith.
Survivors left to salvage Sally’s memories are her mother Agnes Monteith; sisters: Linda Greathouse of Warren, Ohio, Leona Christenbery of Mio, Michigan; brothers: Robert Monteith of Uniontown, Pa. and Daniel Monteith and his wife Joyce of Brown Mills, New Jersey; also Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
Sally was member of the Mt. Moriah Church and choir of Smithfield, Pa. and Baptist Church of Virginia Beach and choir. Sally attended Smithfield elementary, graduating from the former Masontown High School, and attended the Uniontown Cosmetology School. She was a retired hair sylist and salon owner with more than 50 years of experience. Sally loved her flowers, music, and singing, and will be remembered for her soprano voice as a solist at her Pennsylvania and Virginia churches, weddings, and other occasions.
