Willis W. Evans, 61, of California, PA, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, with his loving family by his side.

He was born Wednesday, October 12, 1949, in Lancaster, PA, a son of the late Wilson G. Evans and the late Thelma Grace (Wynn) Evans.

Will served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Monongahela Valley Lodge Free and Accepted Masons 461, the 6th Man Club of California University and the American Legion JFK Post 377 in California, PA. He was the owner of Earl’s Body Shop, where he had worked since 1974 and proudly assumed ownership in 1985, upon the retirement of his father-in-law, the late Earl Matheson, Jr.

Will was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Bonnie (Matheson) Evans; two daughters, Ashley Evans and Fiance Charlie Seese, and Bethany Tobias and husband Christopher; son, Duncan Evans; two sisters, Elizabeth Morris of Norvan, PA, and Mildred Mattson of Denver, PA; his brother, Kenneth Evans of Oldsmar, FL; and his mother-in-law, Myrtle Belle Matheson.

Family will receive friends for a Memorial Service on Friday February 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CALIFORNIA with Rev. Norman Hunt officiating.

The Masonic lodge will accord services at that time.

Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Amedisys/Albert Gallatin Hospice, 100 Stoops Road, Monongahela, PA 15063.
