Bernice (Sechler) George
0006004419-01-1.jpg Bernice (Sechler) George, age 98 years of Hopwood, Pa. died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Lafayette Manor. She was born June 2, 1912 in New Eagle, Pa., the daughter of the late William Harvey Sechler and Jesse Margorie (Gilmore) Sechler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. George in 1998, a grandson Scott George and siblings: J. Wesley Sechler, Clyde Sechler and Pauline Gearing
Bernice graduated from South Union High School with the class of 1931, was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Christian Fellowship Class. She was the owner of Village Tweed and was the manager of the Uniontown Hospital Gift Shop
She is survived by two sons: C. W. Larry George, Jr. and wife Carol of Hopwood, James Wesley George and wife Janet of Chalk Hill; seven grand-children and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation today (Friday), in the THIRD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m., when a service celebrating Bernice’s life will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chris Enoch officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
