Community breakfast The Masontown Senior Center, located at 22 S. Main St., offers a community breakfast every Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Anyone can enjoy scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee or French toast, bacon and coffee for $3.50.

Community Kitchen

The next Masontown Community Kitchen meal will be held Tuesday. The menu will be hot pork sandwiches, mixed vegetables, Panera breads and desserts. The public is invited to attend and enjoy a good hot homemade meal along with fellowship. The Community Kitchen’s meals are free to anyone in need, but donations are welcomed and are used for future meals.

The Community Kitchen serves between 4 and 7 p.m. every other Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church at 102 W. Church Ave.

The soup kitchen is operated by volunteers from the community and nearly every church of every denomination in the surrounding area. Recently, one of their dedicated volunteers, Joe Revak, passed away quietly at his residence. Joe, who was active in many organizations, was a good friend to all at the Community Kitchen and is remembered as the friendly smile and warm handshake he extended to all who entered the Kitchen. His death deeply saddens all who knew him and his help at the soup kitchen will be greatly missed.
