Helen Cecilia Baranovich Zajac “Aunt Helen”

Helen Cecilia Baranovich Zajac, “Aunt Helen”, 88 years, of Rowes Run, Pennsylvania passed away on S a t u r d a y, January 1, 2011 at home with her Family by her side.

She was born on Saturday, October 21, 1922 to Mike Baranovich and Catherine (Mackowiak) Baranovich in Marguerite, Unity Township, W e s t m o r e l a n d County, Pennsylvania.

“Aunt Helen”, to family and friends, was a kind and giving lady.

She loved her church, Saint Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, and said her prayers and the Rosary daily.

The highlight of her life were her great great grand nephew, Benjamin, and great great grand niece, Lillian.

She and her side kick niece Virginia did everything together.

Her niece Anna called from New Jersey everyday to chat.

Helen loved to bake and share with Family.

She was a loving caregiver to her husband “Rabbits” and her mother Catherine.

“Aunt Helen” was a doer and, until the end, she fought bravely.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John “Rabbits” Zajac; two brothers, Ed Baranovich and Michael “Barney” Baranovich; and two sisters, Josephine Pasko and Rose Zias. Helen was the last surviving member of her family.

She will be sadly missed by her nieces: Virginia Vojacek of Grindstone, Pennsylvania and Anne Gundry of Elizabeth, New Jersey; her sister-in-law, P a t r i c i a B a r a n o v i c h of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; numerous nephews and their families; and special neighbors Cheryl and Bill Rouse.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania on T u e s d a y, January 4, 2011 from 2 to 9 p.m. The Prayers of Transfer will be said in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Grindstone, with the Rev. Father James Petrovsky as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.

Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
