Prexies beat Brownsville in Section 4-AA action
The Washington girls basketball team improved remained undefeated in Section 4-AA with a 63-45 victory over Brownsville Thursday night. The Lady Little Prexies (7-4, 4-0) outscored the Lady Falcons 19-9 in the first quarter, and built a 39-21 lead at halftime.
Trailing 51-30 after three quarters, the Lady Falcons (5-4, 1-2) responded with a strong fourth quarter where they enjoyed a 15-12 scoring advantage.
Angie Pelehac led the Lady Falcons with 18 points, while Ashtyn Guty posted 11 points. In a pre-game ceremony, Pelehac was honored for scoring her 1,000th career point.
Marielle Sargent led Washington with 17 points. Aujuwa Moore finished with 14, and Mya Williams and Justice Jones both scored 12.
