License centers closed for holiday
HARRISBURG – The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said that all driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday and Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through PennDOT’s driver and vehicle services website, www.dmv.state.pa.us.
Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver’s license and photo identification renewals; vehicle registration renewals; driver-history services; changes of address; and exam scheduling. There are no additional fees for using online services.

Jacobs Creek awarded grants
The Jacobs Creek Watershed Association was awarded two federal grants totaling $110,800 for stream bank stabilization and an acid mine drainage reclamation project in Upper Tyrone Township.
Gov. Ed Rendell included the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants in his announcement of state Growing Greener grant awards on Thursday.
The EPA provided $4.17 million in grant money for 21 projects in the state through its Non-point Source Management Program.
Included in the EPA grants, is $69,100 for a bank stabilization project along Jacobs Creek and $41,700 for an acid mine drainage reclamation project along the creek.
Rendell also announced $8.13 million in Growing Greener grants for 62 projects in the state.
