The Fayette County Commissioners voted unanimously to award Parkvale Bank of Masontown a $4 million tax anticipation note for 2011. The note includes an interest rate of 1.43 percent and was the lowest bid the commissioners received.

The move by the commissioners this morning to pass the anticipation note is a common practice by local and state governments to maintain a balanced budget by securing projected tax revenues prior to their collection.
