Hazel Randlett Guseman
Hazel Randlett Guseman, 93 of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Uniontown, Pa. and Paris, Pa., passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2011 in South East Volusia Care Center, Edgewater, Florida.
She was born February 14, 1917 at Jumonville, Pa., daughter of the late Ewing and Lucy (Guller) Randlett.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Clarence Newcomer Guseman, two sisters and two brothers: Clara Caldwell, Ada Stewart, Raymond Randlett and Glenn Randlett.
Surviving are two daughters: Jean Hoon of Port Orange, Florida and Dott Collins and husband Larry of Richmond, Ky.; three grandchildren: Megan Wagner and husband Michael, Todd Hoon and wife Milena, Carly Cornelius and husband Clark; five great grandchildren: Hannah Wagner, Sydney Cornelius, Maya Hoon, Aiden Wagner and Aubrey Wagner and one sister Marian Glover of Uniontown.
Hazel was a graduate of Georges Township High School and California State Teachers College. She taught at White Rock and Wynn Schools in Georges Twp. and at Gallatin and Park Schools in Uniontown, Pa. until her retirement.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Uniontown and Paris Presbyterian Church in Paris, Pa. She held membership in National Retired Teachers Association, Pa. Retired Public School Employees Association, Fayette County Retired School Employees and the German Grange No. 785.
Visitation will be held Saturday in the PARIS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Paris, Pa. from 9 to 11 a.m., when services will be held, followed by interment in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brownsville, Pa. Rev. Tina Hosler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South East Volusia-Flagler Hospice, 3800 Woodbrier Trail, Port Orange, Florida 32127.
