Police look into reported robbery Uniontown police said they are investigating a report that two men entered a car at a stop sign in the city and robbed the driver. Patrolman Dave Hromada said the alleged robbery occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday while John J. Locke Jr., 33, of Uniontown was traveling east on Berkeley Street.

Hromada said Locke told police that he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Bierer Lane near Uniontown Hospital. While stopped at the intersection, Locke told police that two men jumped into the back seat of his Lexus sedan and ordered him to “give them a ride,” Hromada said.

Hromada said that as Locke pulled away from the intersection, one of the men grabbed him by the hood of his sweatshirt and began choking him while demanding money.

Hromada said Locke told investigators that he gave the man more than $300 that he had in his pocket.

Locke told police that he stopped the car where Berkeley Street intersects with the Uniontown Rotary Walk, intending to turn the car over to the men and flee on foot, Hromada said. However, when he stopped the car, Locke said the men jumped from the car and fled south on the Rotary Walk, Hromada said.

Locke couldn’t provide a detailed description of the suspects and police were unable to locate the men.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
