Man charged with forging prescription

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

A Uniontown man was charged with fraud and forgery after he allegedly tried to pass a forged prescription at a South Union Township pharmacy. State police alleged Daniel Christopher Correal, 25, of Brownfield Lane, tried to get the prescription filled at Walmart.

The pharmacist contacted the doctor whose name was on the prescription and discovered the doctor had not written it, Trooper Kiprian S. Yarosh alleged. The pharmacist then called police.

Correal was taken into custody when he came to pick up the prescription, police said.

Authorities did not say what the prescription was for.

He was charged before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. with attempting to acquire a controlled substance through misrepresentation, procuring a drug through fraud and forgery.
