What began a couple of years ago as an idea to expand the Y summer day camps to more sites throughout Fayette County will become a reality this summer. The Uniontown Area Y will expand its summer camp program to sites in Connellsville, Masontown and Brownsville for children who have completed kindergarten through eighth grade through a partnership with the Fayette County commissioners.

The Y program, which has been successfully implemented at the Uniontown Area Y in South Union Township for 25 to 30 years, is geared toward youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The four character values of the Y are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

The program will include assistance based on an income-based sliding fee scale.
