Jerrie Mazza criticizes Opst as Democrat lackey

By Jerrie T. Mazza 3 min read

It seems to me that Mr. Bob Opst has nothing better to do in his life than to be obsessed with Ralph Mazza. For someone who has no connection with Mazza, Mr. Opst spends a lot of time keeping track of what Mazza does.

Why is this? What makes Mr. Opst care one iota about what Ralph Mazza thinks, says or does? How do the actions of Ralph Mazza affect Bob Opst? Or is Opst dogging Mazza on behalf of someone else?

It is obvious by Opst’s letter that he conferred with the two “Vinces” about writing a letter trying to attack Mr. Mazza’s party affiliation. (This is the best they could come up with?)

Mr. Opst, what or who gives you the right to dictate to anyone who they can support, vote for, or what political party they can belong to? I thought this was America. I hate to be the one to tell you, Mr. Opst and commissioners, but if every registered Democrat who supported Ms. Zimmerlink left the party, there would not be much of a party left. People not only have the right to belong to any political party of their choice, but to vote for any candidate regardless of party affiliation.

Just because a candidate is registered as a Democrat does not automatically make that person the best to govern (look at our present county government). There are good and bad in all walks of life, including political parties. Backing a person because there is a “D” beside their name is dumb. What about their morals, ethics, their character and ability to govern? It takes more than a “D” beside their name to make a good public servant.

Is Ralph Mazza so important that he consumes so much of your time, Mr. Opst? Is Ralph Mazza so important that the Democratic Party will fall apart if he backs candidates from another political party?

I don’t think so because he has never pulled the straight party lever. Why did you not attack Mazza when he supported David Lohr, a Republican, who ran for commissioner? Why didn’t you make a big fuss then?

Come on, Mr. Opst, quit being the “Vinces”‘ lackey and do something constructive for a change. What Ralph Mazza thinks, says or does is none of your business.

Ralph Mazza has lived a good, productive life, evidenced by the fact that you had to go back to 1984 to try to find something to discredit him, and you failed miserably.

I suggest you find something productive to do with your life and use your time to do something good for the community.
