Uniontown police are investigating a robbery that took place about 10:30 p.m. Friday on West Main Street.

Uniontown

Two-vehicle accident

Uniontown police investigated a two-vehicle accident that took place at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Stewart and Jefferson streets. Police identified drivers as David Riley of Connellsville and Autumn Hughes of Point Marion.

North Union Twp.

One-vehicle accident

State police said Gregory R. Guseman, 21, of Uniontown, driver of a 2005 Grand Vitara Suzuki was traveling east on Route 40 near Lick Hollow Road at 7:58 a.m. Jan. 12 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the Jersey barrier. He did not sustain any apparent injuries. Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department and Uniontown ambulance service assisted.

Dunbar Twp.

Route 119 accident

State police said JimBob R. Nicholson, 18, of Connellsville, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier south on Route 119 at 6:40 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail on the right side of the roadway. Nicholson had a passenger, Cassidy J. Stewart, 18, of Dunbar. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Connellsville Twp.

Accident reported

State police said Samantha Jo Murphy, 18, of Connellsville was driving a 1995 Chevrolet S10 north on East Crawford Avenue while Michael L. Teets, 43, of Connellsville, was driving a 2002 Ford F150 south on East Crawford at 6:17 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Murphy lost control of her vehicle on snow-covered roadways, crossed into the southbound lane, struck Teets’ vehicle and then a telephone pole.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Connellsville Township Fire Department assisted.

Franklin Twp.

Wagon wheels taken

State police said someone removed two steel wagon wheels from the yard of Richard Conaway of Waynesburg sometime between 9 and 11 a.m. Jan. 14.

Whitley Twp.

Route 79 accident

State police said Darin Keith Neely of Morgantown was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima north on Route 79 at 5:45 p.m. Thursday during icy conditions when he lost control and struck a guardrail.

State police reported minor injury and moderate damage to the unit.

Monongahela Twp,

Route 21 accident

State police said Emilio J. Collins Jr., 27, of Uniontown was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta east along Route 21 at the Masontown Bridge at 10:12 a.m. Jan. 17 when impacted a guide rail, was deflected towards the eastbound lane and struck the eastbound guide rail. No injuries were reported. Members of the Carmichaels/Cumberland Fire Dept. offered assistance.

Jefferson Twp.

Copper taken

Someone took a small stepladder and two rolls of copper wire from the property of Gene Patrick VanDivner, 34, of Grindstone, between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday, state police in Belle Vernon said.

South Union Twp.

ATV stolen

An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from the back yard of 356 Brownfield Lane between 5 p.m. Jan. 13 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, state police said. Shawn Jones of Uniontown owns the ATV. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-439-7111.

North Union Twp.

Drug charges filed

A 16-year-old boy from Uniontown is facing charges of possession of marijuana following an incident at the New Directions school on Chaffee Street in North Union Township around 11 a.m. Thursday, state police said. The boy was discovered with a small amount of marijuana in his possession on school grounds during school hours, police said.

East Huntingdon Twp.

Incident probed

State policesaid they are investigating a domestic assault incident that occurred at Apartment 105, 1205 Gurley Drive, at 10:12 p.m. Monday. Police said the incident involved Ryan Miller, 20, of Dawson and Kayla Coliny, 21, of Scottdale.

Saltlick Twp.

Burglary reported

Someone entered a residence on Greenbrier Road between noon and 6 p.m. on Jan. 5 and stole two guns, a computer and an X-Box, state police said.

Retail theft reported

State police charged Amanda Sullivan, 29, of Uniontown, with retail theft and driving while her license was suspended about 2 p.m. Wednesday after she removed merchandise from Sear’s department store without paying.

Bentleyville

Roscoe man cited

Mark Quinton Swafford, 26, of Roscoe was cited for trespassing for an incident that occurred at the Bentleyville Apartments in front of 507 Old West Road between 12 and 12:10 p.m. Thursday, state police in Belle Vernon said.

The Washington County Housing Authority owns the property.

Mount Pleasant Twp.

Driver cited

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 981 in Mount Pleasant Township at 3:35 p.m. Jan. 11, state police in Greensburg said.

Vehicles driven by Angela R. Plahs, 33, of Mount Pleasant and Gary C. Gearhart, 51, of Mount Pleasant collided after Plahs lost control and struck Gearhart’s vehicle, police said.

Plahs suffered moderate injuries and a passenger, Shyann Plahs, 11, suffered minor injuries, police said.

Police said Plahs was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Connellsville

Man charged

Joseph David Wood, 24, of West Newton, was charged by police with retail theft after he allegedly removed two packages of black socks from the Family Dollar Store on Jan. 18. Police said that the socks were recovered and returned to the store.
