Chester Clayton Smitley
Chester Clayton Smitley, 82, of Markleysburg, Pa. passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV after a long illness.
He was born October 19, 1928 in Markleysburg, Pa., the last and youngest sibling of the Smitley family.
He was the son of the late Bill and Mary Ellen Hall Smitley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Herring Smitley, brothers, Earthy, Dan and Daily, sisters, Ethel Kreeps, Lorella Dennis, Isa Fike, Stella and Ida and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving is his son, Ricky E. Smitley at home.
Chester was a veteran of WWII, stationed in Germany.
Friends will be received in the RODNEY S. TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Markleysburg, today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from Noon to 1 p.m., the hour of the service with Pastor Thomas McCarty officiating.
Interment will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
