Winter weather wallops region, again

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

Another round of winter weather walloped the region today with steady snow across Fayette and Greene counties forcing schools to close early and causing multiple crashes. Schools in both counties sent children home early today as a spitting rain turned to steady snow throughout the afternoon with many area roads snow covered by 1 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, a winter weather advisory was in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday with snowfall totals between three and six inches predicted for much of the region and higher totals forecast for the ridges.

For more information on the snow, read Josh Krysak’s story in tomorrow’s newspaper.
