Uniontown women charged after fight
Two Uniontown women are behind bars after they allegedly assaulted one another during a domestic dispute at a residence in Uniontown early Wednesday.
Uniontown police said Christine Lynn Teets, 39, of 141 Connellsville St. and Kelly Lowery, 43, of 178 Easy St. were each charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with simple assault and harassment.
Police said the incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. at Teets’ home when Teets started punching Lowery in the face while Lowery was sleeping.
Police said Lowery then threatened Teets with a knife and the women started arguing about their evening Tuesday when they apparently got into a dispute at a local bar.
At some point during the altercation, police said Lowery struck Teets multiple times and also tried to choke her with a boot lace.
Lowery was taken to Uniontown Hospital where she received 12 stitches to close a wound on her nose, police said.
Both women were placed in the Fayette County Prison on $5,000 straight cash bond following their arraignments.
Preliminary hearings will be held before Metros at a later date.
