3 min read

With great sadness, we share the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Augustine A. Aello Sr., of Masontown, Pennsylvania. He was born on April 23, 1923 the son of Domenick and Angeline (Morabito) Aiello, Masontown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Joseph and Arthur.

He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church where he faithfully served as an usher at the five o’clock Mass.

He was a retired coal miner, member of the United Mine Workers of America, Italo-American Citizens Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Edith, and their four children: Dominic and wife Merry, Annapolis, Maryland, Barbara Rhoades and husband Jim, Augustine Jr. and wife Nancy, Melissa and Jim Hunyady all of Masontown. Also left to cherish his memory are seven grandchildren: Jennifer Rhoades Brubaker and her husband Rick of Indian Head Park, Illinois, James Rhoades Jr. and wife Laura of Morgantown, West Virginia; Katie Aello, Nick Aello and wife Jessica of Annapolis, Maryland, Hannah Aello, Rebekah Aello and Cole Michael of Masontown; great granddaughters: Alexandra and Madelyn Brubaker.

Also surviving are a brother, Frank Aiello of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Domenica “Minnie” Mojock of Masontown and sister-in-laws: Mary Aiello of Detroit, Michigan and Betty Aiello of Masontown.

Our dad was an honest, hard working man who enjoyed gardening and making projects in his shop. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them and telling jokes.

In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.
