Donald Elmo Santilli
0006018963-01-1.jpg Donald Elmo Santilli, age 81, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, January 27, 2011 in his home. He was born February 22, 1929 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Albert Santilli and Mary (Diluzio) Santilli.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Santilli, his sister, Antoinette Santilli and his niece Doreen McCarthy.
Donald was a member of St. Therese R.C. Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Donald was a 50 year member of the Sons of Italy, a member of the Knights of Columbus, AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood and VFW Post 47. He loved the game of golf and was a member of the MGA Golf League.
He loved gardening and was the owner of the Belmont Inn where he worked for over 60 years.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Fetsko Santilli with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage last Sunday; his loving and devoted children: Mary Ann Kallis and husband /Kenneth of Wexford, Pa, Kathleen Mazzocco and husband David of Cranberry Twp, James Albert Santilli and wife Lisa of Uniontown, Pa and Susan Santilli of Uniontown, Pa.; his grandchildren whom he adored: James David “J.D.” Mazzocco, Laura Elizabeth Mazzocco, Michael James Santilli and Matthew Ryan Santilli; sister-in-law, Carol Santilli; nephew, Mark Santilli and wife Valerie; nephew-in-law Michael McCarthy and his daughters: Michaela and Caitlyn; nieces and nephews from the Fetsko family, other relatives and friends. Donald is also survived by his Aunt Irene Santilli who raised him, she was affectionately known as Auntie Irene; and by his beloved companions Terra and Bailey.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, January 30, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday morning until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese RC Church with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak V.F., Pastor as celebrant.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded at graveside by the AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
Parish Wake Service will be held today, January 30, 2011 at 3 p.m. and the Sons of Italy Ritual will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
